You have to get new service to get this discount or you can add a line to an existing service for 9.99. The Sidekick Slide is free after a 50 dollar rebate and the Sidekick LX is a heavily discounted 50 dollars after mail in rebate.
My favorite part is the one year contract. I really hate 2 year contracts of any sort!
This is a great chance to get cheap t-mobile sidekick phones.
I leave it up to you the moral implications of saying you are affiliated with AVON but surely someone you know sells it! =)

I don’t believe the code “PDA Advantage” is for Avon family and friends though. I gave PDA Advantage and they said that offer is for $240 phone and $100 rebate or something. I then gave the Avon family and that worked correctly. I suggest you just give Avon and forget about the promo code part.
When I asked about the $50 credit I was told about the headset and case. I asked about the memory card and after he checked it was good.

I just tried this today, and it worked fine, as Brian the “PDA Advantage” code is no longer valid, but I was still able to get the LX for 108 including taxes, they also waived the activation fee, free 2 day shipping, and the one year contract. If you do decide to call don’t even mention the “PDA Advantage” and just say your an “Affiliate of Avon Family and Friends”

Did this yesterday and it worked. We got two sidekick LX for $100 each out of pocket (there is a $50 mail-in rebate for each). Also no activation fee, free bluetooth headset, and a on-year contract. Not to mention a pretty sweet myfaves promotional family plan. The sweetest part of this deal is the one-year contract.

As I said, it worked with no problems. I called and said “Hi, I’m looking to set up a new line of service. My mother told me there was an Avon friends and family discount. Can you tell me about that?” I got two LX for $108 (after tax) each, and am eligible for two $50 rebates. I paid a bit more for one-day shipping and the phones arrived the next day. The promo also comes with a $50 accessory credit. Some people have used it for a 2gb memory card, but I don’t think that is a great deal. You can get a 4gb microsd on amazon or newegg for under $20. Instead, I got a bluetooth headset with one phone and car charger (because I hate dealing with buying aftermarket ones - what a ripoff the aftermarket charger market is) with the other.
I was asked for no code. The sales rep was enthusiastic and encouraged me to get all the discounts possible. And, once again, there is only a one-year contract. Here’s to hoping tmobile has an Android phone in a year…

One-day shipping was $13.99 for two phones. When I ordered a sidekick3 (which I eventually returned), it was $10.99. So $15 should cover it, just to be safe.
As for bluetooth, you can look at the tmobile website and select one that is under $50.

When you activate for the 1 year plan how does that workout do you do it over the phone or when you get the phone do you have to take it to a store and get the plan. Also I don’t turn 18 till august so would one of my parents have to order for me.

Think about it…this # isn’t listed on the tmobile website (unless I missed it while I was looking!). When signing up for an account, you are required to give a ssn. This could be a set up, couldn’t it? Have ‘fake’ employees - that decline some and accept others - that are willing to sacrifice a $400 for your SSN which leads to a profit higher than just a cell phones cost.

It’s legit. I got my phone a few weeks ago and my phone plan reflects it. I already had an account and added a second line for my wife. After I gave them my current phone number they found the account.
Why in the hell are some of you still using the “PDA Advantage” promo? Can you read? You have been told multiple times that you don’t want to use that. At the time it was a different coupon and wasn’t even a good deal compared to the Avon one.

Thanks for the update. The PDA Advantage code isn’t valid. I removed it from the post. The best bet from what I can find from searching is to say your mom told you about the Avon family and friends promotion. If the reps gives you the run around, try again. When I find a new code I will post it up!
Yeah, I have posted here a few times. I think the advice about saying your mother works for Avon is good. It could be true, right? Honestly, my partner and I signed up for this and got a sweet deal on two LXs. My friend signed up and got an LX, so now I get a $25 credit for referring him. And the sales reps we dealt with were uninterested in any form of verification and ready and willing to give us the deal with no trouble. In fact, I would say they were enthusiastic. They even told my friend that he’d get a 12% discount on his monthly bill, so we’ll see if that comes through too.
I’m surprised people are having trouble getting this discount. I think that before you call you need to be in the right state of mind: act like you deserve the discount, you are going to get the discount, and you expect to get it. You have to go into this transaction with the same attitude as an Avon employee who was notified about the deal through work. Act professional, be very polite, but know you are getting off the phone with a great deal. This is a very minor victimless social engineering task, and if you can’t swing it, well, you need to stop texting on your sidekick and practice your verbal communication skills… Good luck all.

They take the regular information associated with setting up a new line of service over the phone. They require three forms of ID, which in my case, was my ssn, cc #, and dl #. jml’s right, if you show up confident they will not even question it. The person that I spoke with when ordering my phone asked if I had the promotion code number, to which I replied, “I was unaware that there was a numeric code required for this.” His response was, “it’s okay I can look it up by the name.” From then on he was very helpful and more then willing to guide me through the process of securing an amazing deal offered by T-mobile.
If you do encounter a rep that is having a bad day or wants to make sure you have the actual code, simply excuse yourself in some manner from the phone call (I would have stated that I needed to speak to my mother to find out what the actual code is) and wait a few minutes before calling again. You’re not likely to get the same rep and you can be confident and try the whole process again.
The worst case senerio is that you don’t get the deal, but best case is you get an amazing deal because you did a little research on the internet. You truly have nothing to lose and everything to gain by being prepared and mixing in a little self confidence on the phone.

When you call, act dumb… say im calling because I am an affiliate with Avon, (no promo code is needed!!!) they may say whats the promo code, just say, there is none… and thats it, they will say oh, ok are you a rep or employee of avon? This is true you guys; however, you would have to add another line or get a new account to get this deal. You cannot just purchase a data plan to qualify. I was talking to the guy and he was very nice. So I don’t know what I should do. Should I add another line and pay an extra $9.99 along with the $19.99 data plan to get this phone?
elhnah…you can purchase a data plan only! You may need to find a rep who will do this for you though. The person I spoke with was really, really (unusually) friendly and was happy to hook my line up with the $29.99 data only plan.
If I already have service with T-mobile but want this deal, am I able to just extend my 2-year contract from the date of service? I was in the store not too long ago (I was having problems with my current phone) and the rep there told me I could have extended my current plan for the 2 years from the date that I purchased the new phone. It wasn’t the phone I wanted, though, (I want the LX or the slide), so I decided not to take that offer. Does anyone know if they’ll let me extend service from that day on?

I think what works best is if you sound matter-of-fact about it. Like “I would like to take advantage of the Avon family and friends promotion.” then once they say sure, say “this phone will be used for data only and I would like to only have the 29.99 data plan on it.” something to that effect!
I’m not sure about switching sim cards because I think the new phone number and phone are linked together. and on the invoice you get, it says you have to keep things the same or you’ll be required to pay the full retail of the phone. But I’m not really sure about the details!
The reason I would use this promo would be because of just the phone. I would like to have a voice plan and data plan with it (my old voice plan and the $29.99 data plan), but I am guessing it would only be possible if I added another line with my current plan. GAH there are actually strings attached to this promo. I don’t know what I should do.

This is not fake. And No it won’t work in the store.
The promo code is expired but people have been having luck with calling in and saying the are with avon and would like to utilize the avon family and friends discount. If it doesn’t work the first time, try again. You success will vary. If I can find the other promo code, I will post it it up.

I just ordered mine today and they accepted mine instantly. All I had to do was say AVON as the promotion code and it all took off from there. Worked on my first try too, so that proves that it really does all depend on which rep you get.

Because I got flex pay and payed $100 for my sidekick (without the $50 rebate), and I know a few others who were able to also.
I guess the results vary for people. I might have been able to get a better deal if I had called a few more times. But 100 after rebate is still a way better deal that the full price.

Same here. Its not that bad though. The only difference is that you have to pay before every month instead of after. Came out to 235 for me with tax and all. I’ll be getting 50 back and the first month’s bill out of the way. Its the same thing, you just pay all at once.

I worked for T-mobile the reason you probably had to pay full price is because there are 2 types of flexpays , theres N-Class and M-Class . With N-class you would have to pay everything up front. Full retail price for the phones and first months bill up front that usually means you have really bad credit (NO OFFENSE) . M-class you still get the promotions like free phones and all you have to do is pay the first months bill up front . I hope that clears it up for you as why ppl are telling you they got the promotion on flexpay .

I had no problem wat so ever getting the promotion the first time I called in. I just acted real cool and sweat talked the rep I was able to get 5 sidekick slides 2 -2GB memory cards and 3 bluetooths I only paid for the phones all the accessories where free. I paid about 265 in total. Free Shipping also . Just act real cool and if you know you have bad credit hope to God that you get M-Class when they run your credit LOL.

I already have a line of service with T-Mobile since Sept. 07, I just wanted the free Sidekick Slide because my current phone is, well, “out of shape” to put it loosely. I can hardly access my own phone book. I was looking for a new phone, and I’ve been doing some research on the Sidekick, and came across this offer.
Is it possible to just utilize this offer for JUST the phone? Or maybe upgrade my current account?
I havent really heard anything on people just being able to purchase the phone with this promo. Probably to get a new phone, youd need to activate a new line of service.

I tried to do this Avon family friend discount…they reguired a code. I had the code from this website(5871TMLAD) and They said that 5871 were the right numbers I needed but the letters were wrong…does anybody know the correct letters for the code??

Yeah i think so too. The lady that i spoke with as soon i told her the promotion code she put me on hold and then i could hear her repeating what some one else was telling her to say. So obviously they know whats going on already.

True, but I also think it still depends on the rep you get. I mean think about how many reps there are. Not everyone of them are going to know whats going on. Like the rep I had just made everything go through very easily, but some people have been trying for weeks now and it worked for me on my first try.

Unfortunately, I think its safe to say that this promo ended. Within the last 24 hours I havent seen anyone successfully get the deal. T-Mobile probably finally caught on and flat out ended it. I havent even heard rumors of another new code, so if there is a new one they’re really keeping it under lock and key.
WORKS. did it today April 8th at 1pm. called and i mentioned the avon family and friends promotion. she did ask for the code and i mentioned 5871TMLAD apparently it went through. total charges are 104.99 which i had the option of putting on my next bill. total monthly is 0.00 for adding a line and 5.99 for the insurance. the lady even threw in a free accessory! did it today after i saw jm’s postings. the first two reps accepted the code but was trying to sell the lx for 150-200$. the third rep i talked to gave me the deal !!! 104.99 was the total i believe. he also threw in a car charger and a 1gb card. just be really nice and if you get a dick that wont do it…call back. dont say your mother told you bout this promotion…say you are affiliated with avon and you are interested in the promotion that they have. I just gave them my first name and asked how they were doing (be nice and polite), and he asked me if he could interest me in signing up for a plan with them… I said “Yes, actually I’m wanting to start up a family plan with you guys for me and my wife.” Then I said right away, “My wife’s boss mentioned to us that for her working at AVON we can get a great discount with you guys.” I DID NOT MENTION RIGHT AWAY THAT I KNEW ABOUT GETTING THE SIDEKICK LX FOR $99.99 WITH A $50 REBATE!!! I went and looked online. It shows all the discounts on all the phones! Its way cheap!! But it looks like its for new activations only, it says to call a number if your wanting to upgrade or add a line.
I did it online, also. It didnt ask me anywhere to identify myself as an avon employee. Even if they did, its the “friends and family” promotion, so you dont even really have to work for avon. And using google for a whole 2 minutes could turn up a long list of avon reps, if you need to say someone gave you the site.
I put in my order saturday night, and I should be getting the “confirmation email” soon, I guess. It said it takes up to 48 hours to get it. But I guess my credit was approved, and everything was fine. I guess I’ll see whenever I get that next email. I’ll keep you guys posted.
The only thing I ran into so far online, is that you can only get either the data plan, or the voice plan. It wont let you select both. So I got the voice plan, and when I get the phone, I’m going to be going to my local tmobile location and adding the data. Thats the only problem so far, and its a small one, so Id gladly take that over paying 200$ more for my phone.

I ordered mine online late saturday night, and I just got the order confirmation email.
I qualified for the flex pay, so I have to pay for the first months bill up front (which you have to do if you order your phone online anyway.), and my phone. Total charges - 165.06
And they do automatically tack on the data plan. I wasnt sure, but they do.
They are going to expedite my order ASAP, and I should be getting my phone by this weekend.
