For cryin’ out loud, they both are the same freakin price and have the same freakin features.. Shim I havnt recived my update as well but to anser your questins you CANNOT view videos on the web as the media player has been upgrade to wear you can put videos onto your SD card. And I do not belive that flash has been imported into the web browser but there are browser enhansements. The spell checker I belive is pretty good altough there are setting from the jump menu. Hoped I helped

to #4 kiki-fyi the slide and the lx donot have the same features. lx has enhanced lcd resolution screen,slide doesn’t. Also slide doesn’t have camera flash led. And slide is made by motorola not danger as the lx and previous sidekick editions are. Thus the reason I didn’t purchase it myself. And fyi when I purchased the lx when it first came out,slide was pulled from the website temporarily for trouble shooting problems and it costs less than the lx did. So final analysis is….its not the SAME phone.

What’s up yall I work in the tmoblie call center… we get all our information from a inhouse website called streamline and it said were getting it so it is real. I’m not a part of the sidekick department but have been into sidkicks from the begining so I’m a fan for life. I still haven’t got mine for my sidekick I hope it comes soon… but if you guys are calling in to ask questions ha don’t even bother with the csr (customer care representatives) ask to get to the sk department… csrs more than likely if they don’t keep ontop of reading our information they won’t know about n e thing…. 1 love

ay yo I got some advice! to increase ya chance of getting the update try holding 1,0 and the @(the one next to spacebar) keys to reset your LX…. also try taking your battery out for a couple seconds.. THOSE WIll RESET UR NETWORK AND INCREASE UR CHANCES! my friend got it rite away but it didn’t work for me.. and please email me at Ralsengan@tmail.com and lemme kno all the info about the video like what format it needs and quality..

I just spoke to dangers customer service and this is what he told me: he said that tmobile stopped testing the update and that it just officially went out on the 21 of this month. He said that on june 25 is when tmobile sent the update out to only 1000 people and they were the testers. He also said something which I think is totally stupid like if we stopped usuing the sidekick for a while the update would come faster because the calls we make and the update are sent on the same network so every time we make a phone call it decreases our chances of getting it quicker. I told hime that the whole thing was very stupid of danger and tmobile to set it up this way. I hope that this info is a help to all of those who are waiting for this update. I am also waiting.
I mean that makes sense.. The update msg box pops up when ure phone has completely downloaded the update to the Lx.. But if you are on the phone or on Aim or always using the internet than the speed in which the update is downloaded will b slower.. So if its ure day to receive the update and tmobile begins to send the update to ure phone u prolly won’t get it right away cuz it takes awhile to download

I just wanted everyone to know that the OTA updates are DONE SENDING OUT. If you didn’t get one, then there is nothing you can do about it. I’ve called t-mobile and they give me the fucking runaround. Or they tell me to bring my phone to a t-mobile location, where they give me the runaround. The only way to get the update now is to buy one of the new phones with the new software already installed. The reasons some people didn’t get them are as follows:
- Your phone was off when you were sent the update
- Your phone didn’t have GPRS activated when you were sent the update
- Your phone has non-t-mobile official themes, ringtones, etc downloaded to it, therefore it breaks the terms of service, so they don’t want to give you anything new because then you could blame them if your phone gets fucked for whatever reason.
Fuck them, seriously.
So, sorry guys. We’re all fucked now.

I got it today. It turned out to barely be worth the wait. Its aaaaiiiight. I was waiting for over 5 weeks. I repeat, its OK. Not great. My wife has a lx and I got em both at the same time. She didn’t get the update. She’s pissed. Keep your phone on and service connected. That’s what I did. For 5 plus weeks. I called danger, tmobile, and went to the store. They don’t tell you anything concrete. I’m sure everyone will have it by the end of august. I just can’t believe I finally got it. I think I learned a freakin lifelong lesson waiting on this shit. Patience.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!…..i got mine today baby the update really makes the sidekick much more interesting. They redesigned EVERYTHING it got video capture and you can watch videos on you sidekick now but the video screen so freaking small and it only supports 3gp which sucks. The browser got a lil faster and you can save pictures directly from the web. The Im clients too is great i can have a message and still be available (FINALLY)……..Long story story it has too many features for me to talk about but its is worth the wait and i use to hate my sidekick cause it was so boring. I give the update a 4/5
P.S 1.I just got the sidekick 2008 and its okay but its not all that,i don’t like it cause its like the lx just smaller with NO FLASH but the complete customizable skin makes up for it

Look, ppl. The only way to get the update faster is to not use non of the network. No using web, no I.M. (Aim, yahoo, or msn) don’t use it at all. Make sure your phone is fully charged. And just wait for it.. I did this and within 2 days or so, I got the fucking update. Its been a week since I had my update and I have to say it fucking rocks. Stop fucking bitch that you didn’t get it. It slows down ur chances of getting your update if u keep using the network. Please try this and tell me if you get it.

just got Off the phone w/ the tmobile technical service. & they clearly stated that EVERYONE will get the update but what happened was t-mobile didnt meet the deadline Or whatever in sending the OTA to all LX users & so they had to extend it ( 5 MORE WEEKS ) so by the end Of august/early september everyone should have their update. - just be patient, i dont see why everyone is makein a big deal Out Of it..its just a phone. what if they never said anything about it. you people would’ve just got it whenever & it wouldnt Of been a problem. I got my sidekick in October, a week before it came out. I had the SK3 for like 16 straight months…no ota yet. Thi is how T-Mobile rewards loyalty. No worry, I have a secret plan.
i called t mobile they told me 6 weeks from today and then in 6 weeks they will probably say in 6 weeks again so theres no point calling them cause there just gonna tell you whatever they want . i guess just sit and wait and maybe it will come out before the new 09 kick. also to make your lx look like the new kick gecko or whatever there callin in you can go onto t mobile and buy a new case and you can either pick one of theres or customize your own its pretty sweet any way if anyones bored or has any actual info on the ota im me southernrock1861

THE MASTERPLAN WORKS! Okay, granted, its not a completely genuine plan, but here’s what you do. I guarntee it will work. So, your trying to figure out how to get to 12.4 MB’s so here’s what you do. Get a friend to send you pics via email. 1.5MB’s each time or so. Make sure you delete them before they get full. So you’ll eventually get to 12.4 mbs or whatever…THEN turn your phone off and take out the sd memory card, battery, and sim card. Put them all back, and turn on the phone, make sure you turn off the privacy lock and key guard stuff, keep your screen bright and in no time you’ll get the update. I just got it. My masterplan worked. In a nutshell, get to 12.4 MB’s first, then restart the phone. Gosh, Organic Chemistry 2 wasn’t this nerve wrecking. Hit me up on aim: doktordoman…if you need help, I’m out like the vapors
Oh yeah, if you have a custom background, change it to one of the generic backgrounds, I did that too.
