The Sidekick 2008 (Gekko) is coming on July 30th

T-mobile finally settled on a name for the new Sidekick.  It’s the Sidekick 2008.  That’s kind of weak. What happens when it is 2009?  Whatever!

 The good news is it is coming out on July 30.  It is going to feature  interchangeable shells.  It is going to be like high end skins for the phone.  See more about that here.

That’s a lot for a phone that is rumored to be the replacement for the low end Sidekick ID (may it rest in peace!).  No announcement on the price yet.

    ii really think it should b called the gekko, because the name fits with whole ideal of this gadget. its able to change its shells to fit with the consumer personality && fashion statement just as a gecco would change its color to blend in with its environment.ii think its a lil too late to be callin it 2008 mayb with the Lx or the Slide, but before you kno it 2k9 will be here and daii will have 2 make a new model just for that year to keep up. smh. yall got my vote. GEKKO IT SHOULD BE!

    I have to say the sidekick 08(which is what im using to leave this comment by the way lol)is a very innovative and unique piece of equipment even though it has a FEW flaws its a great phone until t mobile releases the g1 im going to stick with my sidekick!!!

    i love the gekko. i finally have the recent sidekick and love it. i got it a few days ago, and i love it. i have had the first sidekick, the ID, the sidekick three, and the LX. this one im very happy to have. I Love T Mobile!!! Plus, i like that they call it the sidekick Aspen. my name is Aspen ;)
