So the old promotion for the 50 dollar sidekick LX ended on Jun 30. The promotion for the free sidekick slide also ended on that date.
Thanks to one of our readers, Ineed a Sidekick LX, we now have the new promotion information for the Sidekick LX for 50 dollars and the Free after rebate sidekick slide.
The new phone number to call 1-877-314-7960 and press option 4.
The promo code is still 5871TMOFAV.
You still get the $50 towards an accessory. Also you still get the 12% off the monthly price if ou are an AVON rep.
It looks like it may now be a 2 year contract instead of 1 year.
This promotion is due to run through September 30.
This is for new accounts and new lines, if you already have a contract with T-mobile then you can do this deal by adding another line for 10 dollars a month.
If you credit is poor, then you probably will have to do flexpay. This will require you to prepay the monthly bill upfront.
If you prefer to order online, then the address is still www.tmobile.com/avon. The pricing is the same but requires a 2 year contract.
In conjunction with the announcement of a Tony Hawk Edition of the T-Mobile Sidekick LX, T-Mobile confirmed upgrades for existing customers coming in July.
T-Mobile has partnered with skater Tony Hawk to create the new Tony Hawk limited edition Sidekick LX.
The Tony Hawk LE Sidekick LX has a skateboard look. Hawk, who says he’s been a “loyal Sidekick user since the first model” had a hand in designing the special edition model. It builds off the Sidekick LX with a slate gray shell, blue-and-white accents, the skater’s signature hawk graphic, and skating sound effects for the hinge. The bottom cover of the device is outfitted to resemble and feel like the top of a skateboard, including a texture like grip-tape and eight simulated screws.
The Tony Hawk Sidekick LX will also be the first Sidekick to ship with video recording, playback, and sharing capabilities. It will also have stereo Bluetooth support and more personalization options.
For current sidekick LX owners this is good news, because you will be getting theses capabalities also. An OTA (over the Air) update will be sent out for all sidekick LX users a bit later in the Summer.
Current Sidekick Owners will get the chance to purchase the Tony Hawk LX first on July 9, 2008. As for everyone else, they get their chance on July 16, 2008.

From http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/19/new-sidekick-model-nv210-passes-fcc-muster/
Rumors swirling around Danger’s upcoming Aspen and Gekko Hiptops are approaching a rolling boil at this point, and seeing a new model fly through the FCC’s testing procedures certainly isn’t going to help to quell them. Honestly, we probably would’ve passed this one right over had it not been for the big “Powered by Danger” label on the FCC approval sticker here, detailing a new Sidekick known internally to Sharp as the PV210. We’ve gone through the test reports and we’re sorry to report that there still isn’t any 3G here — so despite the device’s perfect form factor for consuming gobs and gobs of data, EDGE is going to have to continue to suffice. We imagine we’ll be seeing this one announced before too long
T-Mobile’s Sidekick Slide is now available in Scarlet.
It features a 2.5-inch QVGA display, microSD card slot with extended memory up to 4GB, 1.3 megapixel camera, supports myFaves service and the full suite of instant messaging. It also includes support for quad-band GSM, Bluetooth and data over EDGE network.
This Scarlet phone shows off its full QWERTY keyboard and an enhanced web browser with Java support. It also features a music player that supports MP3 and AAC music files. It offers the softwares of earlier Sidekicks like email, MyFaves, email, Myspace Mobile and built-in IM clients.
Weighing 150g, T-Mobile Sidekick Slide Scarlet has upto 5.9 hours of talk time and 3.6 days of standby time from its battery.
This new sizzling phone is priced at US $199.99 with a new two year service agreement.

The Sidekick line of messaging-oriented devices has been very successful for T-Mobile. Following up on the Sidekick LX, Sidekick 3, and Sidekick Slide are two more SK handhelds coming this summer. Codenamed Sidekick Gekko and Sidekick Aspen, these two devices will likely boast similar form factors to the existing line.
This means that you will get a full QWERTY keyboard and a large display of some kind, as long as a whole whack of pre-installed messaging applications. The current rumor says that the Sidekick Gekko will hit shelves on July 27th and then the Sidekick Aspen will follow shortly afterwards on July 30th.
There is a distinct possibility that either or both of the new Sidekicks will come with support for the T-Mobile HotSpot@Home service, marking the first time that a Sidekick would come with Wi-Fi. Alternatively, Gekko and Aspen could be little more than color variants of existing models. Stay tuned, as more information will surely present itself before the supposed end of July launch dates.

Wow, that was quick. In only a years time, the Sidekick ID has been discontinued by T-mobile. The Sidekick ID was the low end Sidekick since its introduction. It was stripped of a camera, a mp3 player and any expandability. Looks like the Sidekick Slide is the new low end phone from T-mobile.
So long Sidekick ID, it was nice knowing you.
The following is from Engadgetmobile.com
“After what feels like an all-too-brief run on the low end of the Hiptop range, the colorful Sidekick has unceremoniously disappeared from T-Mobile’s retail site. We don’t have any intel on whether it’s gone for good just yet — we’re working to confirm — but tell us: was anyone out there, like, totally going to buy an iD today, only to discover (much to your horror, of course) that it had been removed? Please, do share your horror stories with us in comments while we’re getting the lowdown on the situation.
Update: We’ve heard back from T-Mobile, and it’s true — the iD is no longer being manufactured, though if you’re really lucky, we understand that you still might be able to score one from a store that has some remaining stock. Good luck, shoppers!”
