You Can still Buy A Sidekick 3 from T-mobile

Friday 30 November 2007 @ 8:06 am

Browsing around yesterday, I found the Sidekick 3 still available from T-mobile.  You can only buy it for prepaid plans.  The cost?  399.00!  Ouch, you do get a free 25 dollar prepaid card.  If you need one, I would get one from ebay.

Sidekick 3 Skins is the place to go if you need some skins for your Sidekick 3.

The Slide is still not available again.  It is supposed to be relaunched this week.  They better hurry up!!

Got Signal Dead Spots in Your House?

Wednesday 28 November 2007 @ 5:13 am

I know that I do.  I found a good review on CrunchGear.com about  a small repeater that will give your better signal strength indoors.   At 169.00 dollas, it is by no means cheap, but if you are on the phone all the time, it could be a lifesaver.  I do a lot of business calls from my house so I will be getting one!

Here is an excerpt from the review:

“The YX300 is about four inches long and has a plastic antenna and power cable. You stick the antenna to your window using the included suction cups and plug in the device. When the light is green, your cellular reception is clean. If it’s red then the box is too close to the antenna and you simply have to move it away. In my new house I’ve found that my calls are cutting in and out. After installing the YX300, I anecdotally notice less cut-outs and I noticed more bars and a higher signal strength as compared to the situation without the YX300. For example, I just plugged in the YX300 and now have full reception at -85 dBm on a T-Mobile Sidekick LX. I unplugged the zBoost and it immediately began dropping to -91 dBm. Plugging it back in got me -83 dBm.”

Sidekick Trackball Problems?

Wednesday 21 November 2007 @ 12:36 am

If you are having problems with your trackball, here are two ways to make it work better.

1: Take a deep breath and blow on the trackball area, rotate and do it again.  This may blow any particles block the sensors.

2: This requires a Q-tip and some alcohol.  Turn off your sidekick, wet the end of the q-tip, and gently clean the trackball while rotating.  Be careful not to get the alcohol on anything but the trackball.  Let dry for a minute and try it out.  If this doesn’t work then try again.

If all else fails, give T-mobile a call and get a new one!
