im on ebay looking at the sidekick 2009 and its a very nice phone, im wondering if i could somehow get it to work on another carrier (the data that is) cause i want to use the IMs feature on the phone. isnt it possible to change the APN settings, username password etc settings for the internet connection?

No, I’m sorry you can’t the Sidekick Data plan as well as the G1 plan and any other ones, like Blackberry can’t work because they are specifically made for those phones, but if you have messaging you can access the IM apps. on any phone. I would know I’m a cell phone technician/ engineer, but I specialize with Sidekicks.
