T-mobile sidekick?

I have a good friend of mine, who is interested in the T-Mobile sidekick. However, they already have a plan with at&t. They don't want to switch plans. With me buying it, I was wondering If I can get it for her without having to buy a plan, in other words, get it and have her use it under her plan. Also, can you buy one without a plan

    yes you can buy one without a plan and use it on att. it will cost you a little more but you would just go to the tmobile store and ask them to unlock it for you. then you could give it to her and all sh’ed have to do would be plug in her sim card.

    T-Mobile’s Sidekick is locked to T-Mobile’s GSM system. Because of an exclusive agreement with Danger and by policy T-Mobile is unable to unlock the Sidekick for use on other GSM networks.
